Mr. Joseph E. Charles Cartier,
Chairman of the Board

Mr. Cartier is currently the Delivery Centre Director at Accenture Mauritius and has over 20 years of professional experience in the ICT/BPO sector. Prior to his current position, he was the Managing Director and Country General Manager of TNT Business Solutions.

During his tenure as the President of the Outsourcing and Telecommunications Association of Mauritius (OTAM) from 2014 to 2017, Mr. Cartier has won an African Leadership Award for his contribution to the ICT/BPO industry.

He was appointed on the Board of the Bank of Mauritius in March 2015.

Mr. Azim Currimjee,
Vice-Chairperson

Mr. Azim Currimjee is the Managing Director of the Food and Beverages Cluster of the Currimjee Group of Companies and the Managing Director of Quality Beverages Ltd. He is also member of the Board of all the principal companies of the Currimjee Group of Companies as well as SBM Holdings as non-executive director. Mr Currimjee has over 25 years of experience in the field of Industry and is currently the President of Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), a role he also held in 2007.

Mr Currimjee is also the First Vice President of the COMESA Business Council (CBC).

Mr. Dharam Dev Manraj,
G.O.S.K.

Mr. Manraj is currently the Financial Secretary at the Ministry of Finance and Economic Development. During his career, predominantly within the public and semi-governmental spheres in Mauritius, Mr. Manraj occupied various positions and in 2000, he was able to put to service his extensive experience by acting as Advisor to the Prime Minister and as Senior Advisor
in 2012.

He also serves on the boards of several important institutions.

Dr. Alexandra Henrion Caude

Dr Alexandra Henrion Caude is director of research at the National Institute of Health of France (Inserm) and the Chairperson of the Eisenhower Fellows of France. In 2017, Dr Caude established a new research platform in Mauritius to bridge the gap between ancestral knowledge and scientific research. Dr Alexandra Henrion Caude is an internationally renowned Professor with over 150 publications, patents and recurring invitations with Nobel Laureates.

Mr. Dipak Chummun

Mr. Chummun is currently the Group Chief Finance Officer at IBL Ltd. He has held various senior group and regional roles in treasury, corporate & investment banking, strategy & finance with major international banks, namely Standard Chartered, Barclays, Emirates NBD and Deutsche Bank in their hubs in London, Dubai, Singapore and Frankfurt.

Mr. Cedric de Speville

Mr. Cedric de Speville is the Chief Executive Officer of the Eclosia Group and the current President of Business Mauritius.

He is a board member of a number of private and public companies in Mauritius and the region.

He is also a member of the advisory boards of Columbia Business School FBP and Curtin Business School. Mr. Cedric de Speville has been the President of the Mauritius Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) from 2011 to 2013.

Dr. Shameem Fawdar

Dr. Shameem Fawdar is currently the Scientific Director at Axonova Ltd, a translational drug development company based in Le Vallon, Ferney, where she heads the in vitro drug discovery platform.

She is also a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Biomedical and Biomaterial Research at the University of Mauritius. She was previously working in the UK as a Research Associate at the University of Westminster and as Postdoctoral Scientist at the Cancer Research UK.

She is dedicated to advancing cancer research and is presently setting up, with Professor Bahorun from ANDI Centre of Excellence for Biomedical and Biomaterials Research, a project on the genetic background of breast cancer in Mauritius.

Mr. Terence Charles Smith

Mr. Terence Charles Smith is the Chief Executive Officer of Fundsmith, a fund management company based in Mauritius, which manages £14 billion on behalf of some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated wealth managers and private banks as well as for prominent families, charities and other endowments. Mr. Smith became a stockbroker with W Greenwell & Co in
1984 and was a top-rated bank analyst in London.

He was also a best-selling author for his book titled ‘Accounting for Growth’.

He has acquired vast experience in his roles as Head of Research at UBS Philips & Drew and Chief Executive Officer at Tullett Prebon. In 2012, he was appointed as Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit for services to New Zealand-UK relations following the success of his campaign to commemorate the New Zealander, Air Marshal Sir Keith Park.

Mr. Rajiv Servansingh

Mr Rajiv Servansingh is the chairman of MindAfrica Group. He has a lengthy experience in the public and private sector. Mr Servansingh was elected member of the parliament from 1976-1982. He gave up active politics and engaged in business and consultancy/advisory services. He is currently involved in the Casino industry, Real Estate, Investment Promotion between India and Mauritius and Eastern and Southern African countries.

The Chief Executive Officer

Mr. François Guibert,
Chief Executive Officer, Economic Development

Mr. Francois Guibert is the newly appointed CEO of the Economic Development Board.  He holds an Engineering Degree from Ecole Centrale France and has more than 40 years of substantial experience in the areas of investment & trade promotion, business development, sales & marketing as well as advisory and consultancy services.

Mr. Guibert has spent more than 35 years  at STMicroelectronics where he held several key positions such as the Vice President of Corporate Business Development in Geneva for 12 years, and as the Executive Vice President for Greater China & South Asia Region for 10 years in Singapore.  He was appointed as Senior Advisor of ESTIN, a European Strategy Consulting company in September 2016.  

He has several accolades in recognition of promotion of industries and enterprises in Asia. He also acted as the Board member of the Singapore Economic Development Board for 5 years where he served as Chairman of the Finance Committee for a period of 2 years from 2012 to 2014.

In his capacity of Founding Chairman of the EU-ASEAN Business Council from 2013 to 2016, Mr. Guibert advocated for the consolidation of bilateral ties and strategic partnership between the EU and ASEAN countries.
