Government aims at achieving self-sufficiency for a number of agricultural products and sharpen the export potential of quality and diversified agro-processed products. Recent international shocks have exacerbated the need for Mauritius to review its agricultural production strategy. Mauritius produces less than 25 percent of its food products and it must urgently find solutions to address food security issues.<\/p><p>The objective of this symposium is to provide a platform for participants to explore issues, exchange views, and enhance their understanding on key themes identified by formulating short- and medium-term actions that would support initiatives to improve food security and reduce imports of food products.
