Mauritius International Art Fair, 8th to 11th August 2019, Caudan Arts Centre, Mauritius

Zee Arts in collaboration with the Economic Development Board is organizing The Mauritius International Art Fair (MIAF) which will be held from 8th to 11th August 2019 at Caudan Arts Centre, Mauritius.

The event themed “Fostering Unity, Celebrating Differences” will provide a unique platform to position Mauritius as a prominent international  art & cultural hub by connecting artists in the region and globally.

From a business & investment perspective, the EDB has developed a three-fold strategy to foster the cultural ecosystem to:

  • Create a unique platform that will create linkages between 65 international artists and 30 local artists.
  • Promote art as an asset class for investment
  • Fomulate effective strategies to address the infrastructure gap in terms of auction sales & art museums in Mauritius

The premier edition of the Mauritius International Art Fair (MIAF) is a multi-disciplinary contemporary art fair which will gather artists across the globe, namely from Europe, Middle East, Africa, Asia and Oceania  and predominantly from the neighboring islands such as Rodrigues, Reunion, Madagascar & Seychelles.  The event will allow artists to gather, network, and engage in artistic dialogue and cultural exchange.

The 4-day event will comprise panel discussions, live art performances, artists empowerment programmes, educational workshops and interactive public arts.  Visitors will also have the opportunity to view and purchase an impressive and wide spectrum of arts including painting, sculpture, art forms and photography.

Moreover, a Gala Award Night  will be organized to commemorate the 1st annual Mauritius International Art Fair.
