Multisector Promotional Mission to East Africa, scheduled to take place from 21 to 25 September 2026 covering Ethiopia, Tanzania and Kenya

East Africa is home to more than 260 million people, with a significant young population driving demand for education, skills development, healthcare, financial services, technology solutions, tourism and other high-value services.

The mission forms part of the EDB’s ongoing efforts to promote investment and business opportunities, boost export of services, and strengthen economic linkages between Mauritius and East Africa. The mission will focus on three strategic sectors, namely Education, Emerging Technology & ICT and Financial Services. As Mauritius continues to diversify its economic base and strengthen its position as a gateway between Africa, Asia and international markets, East Africa represents a region of strategic importance due to its strong economic growth prospects, expanding consumer markets, increasing investment opportunities and growing demand for quality services.

The direct flight by Ethiopian Airlines between Addis Ababa and Mauritius will act as a crucial bridge for intra-African trade and investment as well as a critical catalyst for further business growth.
