An art exhibition is being held from 14 November to 14 December 2023 at the EDB Art Gallery. Some 14 local artists are showcasing their captivating artworks.
The gallery will be open to visitors from 9am to 5pm from Monday to Friday.

Concept Note : Through this artwork, i want to highlight the importance of marine life, especially sea turtles because it is very symbolical which is showing golden turtles and is a sign of protection, good luck, perseverance, tranquility and longevity, trust and endurance when seen by humans. However, the depth of the sea and the significance of life of turtles are fading with the complexity of modern life and this is somehow the sad reality.

Concept Note : Typical portrayal of Mauritius from the time of arrival on the Promised Land till today. Asian women working in sugar cane fields to earn a living. This painting represents freedom earned through a long journey across the ocean, the great experiment of indentured labourers, the development of the sugar industry and Mauritius.
