The Mauritius Week in South Africa is a multi-sectoral roadshow being organised by the EDB in four major cities of South Africa, notably Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, and Port Elizabeth, from the 22nd till 30th of April 2024.
The main objective of the roadshow is to expand the market presence and country brand of Mauritius in South Africa through a sustained marketing, and to showcase all the attributes of Mauritius as an investment destination, an IFC of choice, and a vibrant centre to do business in Africa, and a harmonious place to live, work, play and retire.
The Roadshow will principally comprise four major business forums and thematic roundtable sessions aimed at showcasing the investment opportunities and the following principal sectors:

Olivier is a seasoned banker spanning more than 15 years of career within the Mauritian IFC. He joined MCB in 2014 as a Private Banker and played a pivotal role in nurturing and developing key high net worth international client relationships, with a focus on the South African market. In 2023, he was appointed as Senior Private Banker and embraced additional responsibilities in leading his team in their business development activities on the African continent and the region. Olivier has a proven track record of securing holistic solutions for his clients, encompassing tailor made cross-border wealth management, specialized financing and succession advice.
Prior to joining the bank, he held relationship management roles in affluent client segments with other International banks operating in the Mauritian banking landscape. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce with specialization in Economics and Finance from Monash University (Australia) and graduated from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (UK).
Gareth, originally from Johannesburg, arrived in Mauritius as an investor, attracted by its lifestyle and the security aspect. He fell in love with the island and chose to make it his home. He loves being outdoors and has played provincial tennis and indoor cricket for many years.

Jaysen is a seasoned banker with diverse expertise in Global Financial Markets, Corporate & Investment Banking, Retail Banking, Asset Management, and Wealth. Starting his career in London, he later held various leadership roles in Mauritius and Madagascar. Currently serving as the Director: Head of Wealth at Absa Bank (Mauritius) Limited, he has extensive experience in managing affluent banking and asset management businesses, transforming banks, and co-founding a financial services company. Jaysen holds a BA (Hons) in Economics from the University of West London, completed an Executive MBA at Bayes Business School – City, University of London, and finished an Advanced Management Program at Booth School of Business, University of Chicago. Known for his free-spirited nature and humor, Jaysen also enjoys spending time with his children and traveling.
