Call for Entry – EDB Art Gallery
The Economic Development Board (EDB) is planning to organize its 3rd Art Exhibition at the EDB Art Gallery in Ebene to promote the works of our local artists.
The EDB is therefore inviting artists, resident of the Republic of Mauritius, to submit proposals for paintings/photography that will be exhibited in a batch of 12-15 artworks over a period of 6 weeks. The art exhibition is also being organized with a view to help artists establish fruitful networking with potential foreign investors and other stakeholders visiting EDB offices on a daily basis.
It is to be noted that as of now, some 16 artworks by our local artists have been sold at the EDB Art Gallery.
You may also wish to note that a catalogue of the selected artworks will be created and published on all EDB social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn along with testimonials from some artists.
Conditions for Participation:
- The call for entry is opened to artists resident of the Republic of Mauritius and Rodrigues only.
- All paintings must be original and have never been exhibited at EDB before.
- Artists will have to submit a duly filled participation form, a concept note of their artwork, a high-quality portrait photograph of the artwork and their CV by 23rd of September 2024.
- Each artist will be given a maximum space of 70 cm x 70 cm.
- A panel will be responsible for the selection of proposals whereby the decision of the panel will be final.
- Artists are allowed to submit a maximum of 2 artworks for selection.
- The EDB reserves the right not to accept artworks deemed inappropriate for the exhibition.
- The EDB reserves the right to cancel the exhibition.
- The EDB will be responsible for allocating space for the display of the exhibits.
- Participating artists are recommended to subscribe to an insurance policy to cover relevant risks.
Closing dates for submission of application forms and Works
All application forms and related documents must be submitted by email on Priscillah@edbmauritius.org at latest by 23rd September 2024 at 15.00 hrs.
Selected artists from the 1st batch starting from 8th of October 2024 to 22nd of November 2024 will be notified and will have to submit their artworks one week before the start of the exhibition at the EDB’s office on 1st floor, 7 Exchange Square, Ebene.
N.B: Late applications/submissions will not be accepted.
