CEPA Takes Center Stage as UAE Trade Minister pays courtesy visit to EDB

The Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the United Arab Emirates, His Excellency Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi paid a courtesy call to the Chairman and CEO of the EDB on Friday 22nd December 2023. Discussions focused on the different sectors for potential investment and on building awareness of operators on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) between Mauritius and the UAE.

HE Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi stated that the CEPA will further enhance the existing trade and investment relation between the two countries and that we can rely on the collaboration of his Ministry to capitalise on the agreement.

In his remarks, the Chairman of the EDB, Mr. Hemraj Ramnial, CSK, congratulated the Minister of State for Foreign Trade of the UAE and his team for the excellent work undertaken to conclude the negotiations on the CEPA. He further added that the agreement will be instrumental in learning from the UAE in several sectors including sharing of knowledge, capacity building and trigger a new momentum in investment and trade between our two countries.
