Courtesy Visit of H.E. Henry V. Jardine. U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles, to Mr. Sanjay Bhunjun, Chairman of Economic Development Board Mauritius
The U.S. Ambassador to Mauritius and Seychelles, H.E. Henry V. Jardine paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of EDB, Mr. Sanjay Bhunjun at EDB Office in Ebene today 5th March 2025.
EDB Chairman welcomed His Excellency and expressed his deep appreciation for taking the time to visit him. During the visit, Mr. Bhunjun stated that the U.S. remains a very important economic partner for Mauritius and stressed on the need for closer ties between the two countries.
The U.S.A. remains a very important export partner for Mauritius with a value of nearly MUR 6.8 billion ‘Made in Mauritius’ products exported to the US in 2024, thus representing an increase of 4.4% over the previous year.
The Chairman briefly elaborated on the new growth poles for investment opportunities that U.S. companies can tap into, namely technology & innovation, financial services, fintech, blue economy and life sciences.
Both H.E. Ambassador Jardine and Mr Bhunjun have reiterated the need for enhanced cooperation in the field in trade and investment.
