Egyptian Ambassador to Mauritius, H.E Mrs. Abir Alam Eldin pays a courtesy visit to the Economic Development Board
With a view to further bolster investment and trade between Mauritius and Egypt, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Mauritius, Her Excellency (H.E) Mrs. Abir Alam Eldin, paid a courtesy call visit to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of EDB, Mr. Ken Poonoosamy on Tuesday, 2nd March 2024.
Discussions focused on the consolidation of economic ties and potential avenues of cooperation between Mauritius and Egypt in diverse sectors. H. E Mrs. Abir Alam Eldin proposed the setting up of a working group alongside EDB to establish the framework to accelerate engagement and collaboration between the two countries. For his part, the CEO of EDB highlighted the longstanding relationship between the two countries and reiterated the EDB’s commitment to further facilitate investment, trade, doing business and strengthening collaboration in areas of mutual interest.
Mr. Poonoosamy further added that the MoU to be concluded with GAFI, the EDB’s counterpart in Egypt, will be instrumental in unlocking investment and trade opportunities between both countries.
