Empower your workforce with new ICT skills
Leverage the Digital Industries Academy (DIA) Training & Employment Scheme for ICT/BPO companies
Following the National Budget 2021 – 2022, the Economic Development Board (EDB) was entrusted with the responsibility of setting up a Digital industries Academy (DIA).
DIA is an industry training platform set up from a public-private partnership to address the problem of shortage of skills in the ICT sector and create a national pool of talent.
As at July 2024, the scheme has been amended to include a refund program specifically designed for employers looking to recruit new employees in the ICT/BPO industry.
The objective is to enhance the quality of training, provide better support, align training programs with evolving technological demands and above all ensure employability of trainees.
What's new for employers?
REFUND PROGRAM FOR ICT TRAINING COSTS*
Employers can now claim a
- Refund of 25% of their training costs when enrolling new trainees for eligible ICT programs.
- Refund of first month salary, up to a maximum amount of Rs 16,500 upon successful completion of the training program by the new employee.
