High Commissioner of Botswana to Mauritius pays a courtesy call to the Economic Development Board
Her Excellency, Ms. Chandapiwa Nteta, the newly designated High Commissioner of the Republic of Botswana to Mauritius paid a courtesy call to the CEO of the Economic Development Board, Mr. Ken Poonoosamy on Wednesday 24th January 2024.
During the meeting, the High Commissioner expressed her appreciation for the cordial and longstanding bilateral relations between Mauritius and Bostwana. She also expressed great enthusiasm for increased collaboration between the two countries.
The discussions focused on avenues of cooperation which can be further developed in the services sector, namely in banking, financial services and ICT/BPO sectors. She also underlined opportunities in the livestock sector (beef/ meat products) and diamond which can be exploited. Moreover, discussions also focused on enhancing intra-regional African trade.
Mr. Ken Poonoosamy underlined the investment and trade potential of Mauritius by leveraging on the preferential market access which can be exploited through the CECPA and AfCFTA trade agreements.
