Notice to exporters – Budget Measures 2024/25 – Extension of export incentives and schemes
The Economic Development Board (EDB) is pleased to announce that the below-listed Export Incentives and Schemes introduced by the Government have been extended for the upcoming fiscal year (1st July 2024 to 30th June 2025) as per Budget Speech 2024/2025 to further promote the export sector.
1. Freight Rebate Scheme (FRS)
Extended until 30th June 2025 with the current Terms & Conditions. First-time exporters with a Total Turnover of less than Rs 20 Million will benefit from an increased refund of 40% for a period of one year.
2. Trade Promotion and Marketing Scheme (TPMS)
Extended until 30th June 2025 with the current Terms & Contidions. As from 1 July 2024, export to New Zealand will be qualified under TPMS.
3. Export Credit Guarantee Insurance Scheme (ECGIS)
Extended up to 30th June 2025 with the current Terms & Contidions
4. SME International Fairs Refund Scheme
- Extended until to 30th June 2025 with the current Terms & Conditions
- For the Tourism Industry, the maximum annual refund has been increased to Rs275,000 per company.
- For other qualifying sectors, the maximum annual refund has been increased to Rs500,000 per company.
5. Africa Warehousing Scheme
- The Scheme is extended until 30th June 2027 with the current Terms & Conditions. As from 1st July 2024, Made-in-Mauritius products that are warehoused in Kenya will be eligible under the AWS.
