Premium Care Clinic was officially inaugurated on 10th March 2025 by Honourable Anil Kumar Baichoo, Minister of Health and Wellness, in the presence of key stakeholders from both the public and private sector.

Located in Phoenix, this state-of-the-art medical facility is designed to enhance the patient experience from diagnosis to treatment and post-care support. With a capacity of 60 beds and a team of highly experienced medical and paramedical staff, the clinic offers a broad range of services in a modern and comfortable environment ( https://premiumcareclinic.mu/). The five-storey building houses a wide range of essential medical services, including radiology and consultation rooms, pharmacy services, laboratory services, modern operating theatres, and a conference room.

Positioned as a multidisciplinary healthcare centre, Premium Care Clinic is equipped with cutting-edge technology, including a high-end Tesla helium-free MRI, a CT scan room capable of performing coronary angiograms, advanced radiography services for high-resolution imaging, and high-end operating theatres. Its team of experts specializes in various fields, including surgery, medicine, radiology, laboratory diagnostics, and neurology, all operating under a patient-centric philosophy.

Speaking at the launch, Dr Dominique Lam Thuon Mine, the main promoter of the clinic emphasized upon the importance of innovation, accessibility, and a human-centered approach in delivering high quality healthcare treatment. He further highlighted that the clinic adheres to international standards and will provide personalised patient care which extends beyond advanced technology to include highly skilled medical experts.

In this regard, a strategic alliance has been signed with MIOT to further strengthen the clinic’s commitment to excellence in patient care.

In his address, Honourable Minister Baichoo welcomed the establishment of Premium Care Clinic, stating that it is a new milestone in the journey towards innovative medical care. He stated that this facility would play a pivotal role in strengthening healthcare services in Mauritius, marking a significant step toward universal health coverage.

Premium Care Clinic has invested MUR 1.5 Bn and holds an Investment Certificate from the Economic Development Board (EDB). The EDB has played a pivotal role in facilitating the establishment of the clinic together with other government agencies. Amongst others a series of meetings, including Technical Committees, were held with a view to facilitate the issuance of permits and licenses with regulatory bodies.

Over the years, Mauritius has developed a robust healthcare sector, comprising both public and private sector that offer a wide range of medical treatments and services, including specialized care in fields like oncology, cardiology, and orthopaedics.

In line with government’s vision to further develop Mauritius as a destination for healthcare services, the EDB is working in close collaboration with key stakeholders to actively promote our jurisdiction as a hub for medical tourism, targeting international patients seeking high-quality and affordable healthcare services and attract investment in the healthcare industry.
