Empowering Artists Beyond Creativity- Building Sustainable Artistic Careers

The Artist Empowerment Programme, an initiative of ZeeArts Mauritius in collaboration, with the Economic Development Board (EDB) was held on Tuesday 11 August 2026 at the EDB Auditorium in Ébène, bringing together over 80 artists and creative professionals from across Mauritius.

The capacity-building initiative focused on equipping local artists with practical knowledge and tools to navigate as an artist entrepreneur and capture opportunities and face recuring challenges in the creative economy.

The sessions covered key areas including entrepreneurial mindset, artistic identity and personal branding, financial literacy, digital presence, storytelling and communication, navigating the art market, and connecting with collectors and industry stakeholders.

The programme featured distinguished speakers and experts from Mauritius, Dubai, Germany, Nigeria, France and Monaco, offering diverse international perspectives and expertise from across the creative industries.

Through this collaboration, the EDB reaffirms its commitment to strengthening the creative art ecosystem and supporting the professionalisation and internationalisation of the sector. The initiative also provided opportunities for knowledge exchange, networking and exposure to new pathways for artists to engage with audiences, collectors, institutions and international markets.
