Bio-Europe is recognized as a dedicated event for the healthcare, life sciences and pharmaceutical sector. This year’s event brought together over one thousand attendees meeting in person and coming mostly from Europe, North America and the rest of the world.
The Economic Development Board (EDB) along with four Mauritian companies namely Axonova, CIDP, Clinear Research and Procare Medical Laboratory participated in the event and had the opportunity to meet and conduct high-level networking sessions with key stakeholders of the life sciences and pharmaceutical industry. In a nutshell, this event represented an ideal platform for participants to showcase and create increased awareness about their product offerings and keep abreast of the latest innovation and application while seeking new markets.
In the margin of the conference, the EDB had the opportunity to participate in a roundtable session with key industry associations comprising the German Health Alliance, Federation of German Industries, Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce and other companies. This round table was organized with the support of DIHK Berlin.
Her Excellency Ms Christelle Sohun, Ambassador of Mauritius in Germany attended the event and in her welcome address, amongst others she encouraged German investors to use Mauritius for business and emphasized on the conducive business environment that Mauritius offers.
Mrs Nirmala Jeetah, Director of the Bio Industry & Project Development made a presentation on the trade and investment opportunities of Mauritius and further discussed about the possibility to develop avenues of collaboration and investment with German companies.
This roundtable session enabled the German companies and business associations to be better acquainted with the product offering of Mauritius and engage in fruitful discussions on future projects which can be envisaged with the German business community.
