EDB Strengthens Mauritius–Ethiopia Links, Unlocking Opportunities in Education, Investment and Technology

The ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT BOARD (EDB) has been entrusted with the responsibility of inviting Expression of Interest (EOI) from local and foreign investors/developers to submit proposals for a regeneration project at Fort Adelaide (La Citadel), a touristic site situated in Port Louis.
This initiative aims to bring to life a historical heritage site that will not only captivate the hearts of visitors but also contribute significantly to the economic growth, historical and cultural enrichment of Mauritius.
The potential investors/developers will be required to:
- restore, preserve, develop and enhance the attractiveness of this landmark site as a tourist destination;
- valorise the history of Fort Adelaide (La Citadel) and Port Louis as well as disseminate information on
other cultural and historical sites within Port Louis to improve their visibility; - promote the site to tourists and the local population; and/or
- propose any activities related to hospitality/ leisure/ entertainment/ culture as may be approved by the Committee.
