ITC SheTrades : Training on Export Readiness

The ITC SheTrades Mauritius Hub operating under the aegis of the Economic Development Board (EDB) organised the second batch of Training on Export Readiness on Tuesday 29 August 2023. Some 25 women-led businesses who are potentially export ready participated in the training program. They were from various sectors of activities including textile manufacturing to food processing.

The participants were exposed to greater awareness and understanding on export requirements, procedures, and solutions. It was also an opportunity to assess the company’s readiness to enter regional markets, become aware of their potential export strategy and gain insights into their weaknesses and strengths.

The delivery of this training was held with the close collaboration with the National Women Entrepreneurs Council (NWEC) and it was conducted by Mrs. Kheeran Bahadoor, Manager at the EDB.

The areas covered during the training session were as follows:

  • Exporting: An opportunity
  • Is your company ready to export?
  • Determining your company’s export potential
  • Requirements on export readiness
  • Export readiness checklist

Women economic empowerment plays a key role in our economic development and in this endeavor the SheTrades Mauritius Hub is providing the necessary support to upskill women entrepreneurs and is also providing prospects on new market.
