Showcasing Mauritian Innovation at VivaTech 2026

Mauritius has reaffirmed its position as a leading digital partner for Africa following the successful conclusion of the ICT roadshow across 3 key African markets, namely Namibia, Botswana and Zambia. The mission which was led by the Economic Development Board and comprised of representatives of 11 private ICT companies, aimed to promote business growth, deepen collaboration between Government and industry and also unlock opportunities for digital partnership and collaboration in those 3 countries.
The roadshow also provided a dynamic platform for Business – to- Government (B2G) et business-to-business (B2B) engagement, resulting in strengthened strategic partnerships, concrete collaboration opportunities and new pathways for Mauritian ICT operators in the African markets. Overall, more than 300 people attended the business forum in respective cities Windhoek, Gaborone and Lusaka and more than 150 one to one business engagement meetings were held.
The mission was an opportunity to host high-level engagement with the Namibia Investment Promotion Economic Development Board and the Botswana Investment and Trade Centre to create partnership facilitation of investment and digital initiatives.
Another key highlight of the mission was the organisation of site visits, which provided firsthand exposure to local digital ecosystems, infrastructure, and innovation hubs. These visits enabled practical discussions and allowed both sides to better identify scalable solutions and align expectations.
The presence of Honourable Felix Mutati, Minister of Science and Technology of Zambia, as Guest of Honour during the business forum, further underscored the importance of fostering stronger digital collaboration between the two countries and reaffirmed Zambia’s commitment to enhancing government-to-government partnerships in support of technological advancement.
As Mauritius continues to position itself as a digital innovation platform, the roadshow has further reinforced the country’s position as a trusted hub for digital partnerships and collaboration across Africa. The exchanges held in all 3 countries have not only revealed converging interests in developing and promoting emerging technologies but also a shared vision about an inclusive, resilient and future- ready digital Africa.
