The Economic Development Board coordinated the visit of two high-ranking officials from the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Mauritius from 27 to 29 February 2024. The delegation included Mr. Nasser Alaqil, National Champions Affairs General Manager, Investor Outreach Deputyship – Responsible for Africa, and Mr. Badr Altowaijri, Advisor to the Minister.
During their stay, the Saudi delegates engaged in meetings with key figures from the Ministry of Finance, Economic Planning and Development, the Economic Development Board, and Business Mauritius. The discussions centred around enhancing economic relations, promoting investment and trade, and finalizing a Memorandum of Understanding between Mauritius and Saudi Arabia for the Promotion of Direct Investment.
Additionally, talks were held regarding the support that the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia could offer for the organization of the EDB’s Business Forum in Riyadh on 1 May 2024.
