This workshop, specifically tailored for members of the Association Mauricienne des Femmes Chefs d’Entreprises (AMFCE), aimed to raise awareness among women-led businesses about the benefits offered by the SheTrades Mauritius platform. The session also facilitated a better understanding of the aspirations and challenges faced by women-led enterprises.

The SheTrades platform connects three million women across 30 countries, presenting a golden opportunity for women entrepreneurs in Mauritius to showcase their businesses, establish robust networks, secure business deals, enhance their credibility, and tap into new markets. The SheTrades Mauritius Hub is fully committed to empowering women through entrepreneurship and providing essential support to foster the growth of women-owned businesses.

In her welcoming address, Ms. Kheeran Bahadoor, Manager at the EDB, emphasized the significance of empowering women. She assured attendees that the SheTrades Mauritius Hub would continue to provide the necessary support to upskill women entrepreneurs and facilitate access to new markets. Ms. Bahadoor also highlighted the successful collaboration between SheTrades Mauritius and AMFCE, expressing the desire to further strengthen this partnership.

The event featured the participation of two successful women who lead their businesses and have joined the SheTrades Mauritius Hub: Ms. Sharanaz Subratty from Casting World Ltd and Ms. Joanna Curpanen from Furniture Elegancy and Interior Design Ltd. Both entrepreneurs shared their experiences, detailing the benefits they gained from a series of free webinars and capacity-building programs provided by the SheTrades Hub. They spoke about how these resources equipped them with new ideas to enhance their businesses, better preparing them for export opportunities.

In her closing remarks, Ms. Trinida Chetty, the President of AMFCE, underscored the importance of collaboration and encouraged AMFCE members to register and take advantage of the support offered by SheTrades.
