Showcasing Mauritian Innovation at VivaTech 2026

Mauritius reinforced its commitment to becoming a leading innovation and technology hub by participating in VivaTech 2026, Europe’s largest startup and technology event, through a delegation led by the Economic Development Board (EDB).

The Mauritius Pavilion brought together a dynamic group of innovative startups providing an exceptional platform to showcase the country’s growing digital capabilities, connect with international investors and partners, and promote Mauritius as a competitive destination for investment and innovation.

A key highlight of the programme was the panel discussion, “Building an AI-Driven Mauritius: Innovation, Talent and Trust,” which explored the country’s potential for harnessing artificial intelligence as a catalyst for economic growth

The panel explored the key building blocks needed to foster an AI-driven economy, including:

  • Developing a national AI ecosystem that fosters innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Investing in digital skills and AI talent to prepare the workforce of the future.
  • Strengthening collaboration between government, academia, industry, and startups.
  • Promoting responsible and ethical AI through robust governance frameworks.
  • Positioning Mauritius as a regional gateway for AI innovation and digital services.

The discussion also emphasized that Mauritius has a unique opportunity to leverage its agility, strong digital infrastructure, and skilled workforce to become a regional hub for AI innovation and digital transformation.

Throughout the event, the delegation engaged in meaningful discussions with potential partners, investors, and business leaders from across Europe and beyond, fostering new connections and exploring opportunities for collaboration, investment, and market expansion.

This participation was more than an event. It was a statement — that Mauritius is ready to be part of the global conversation on AI, deeptech, and the digital economy of tomorrow.
