The Economic Development Board of Mauritius has led a group of private sector stakeholders to the Africa CEO Forum 2023, which took place on June 5 and 6, 2023, in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. This historic annual event, themed “From 300 to 3000: How to Deliver the Next Generation of Africa Champions,” brought together CEOs, heads of state, and policymakers to discuss global challenges in the midst of multiple crises, as well as provide invaluable networking opportunities with top decision makers.
The attendance of H.E. President Alassane Ouattara and Prime Minister Patrick Achi of Côte d’Ivoire marked the opening ceremony of the Africa CEO Forum 2023. Following the event, many discussions took place at the Mauritius booth with firms from around Africa and beyond exploring investment potential with the Mauritian delegation.
Minister Rose Mivedor, Republic of Togo’s Minister of Investment Promotion, paid a courtesy call to the Mauritian team at the Booth and spoke with Mr. Sachin Mohabeer, Deputy CEO of the Economic Development Board. The Minister expressed Togo’s desire to strengthen connections with Mauritius, and one of the first initiatives would be to officially initiate internal consultations in Togo in preparation for the signing of a DTAA with Mauritius. In July 2023, Minister Mivedor will conduct a promotional visit to Mauritius and organize a business roundtable and networking event to highlight existing investment prospects and potential areas of collaboration between Mauritius and Togo.
Alongside the Africa CEO Forum the Economic Development Board Mauritius will host a Business Forum and Networking Event in collaboration with the ”Chambre de Commerce et d’Industrie de Côte d’Ivoire” (CCI-CI), the ”Confédération Générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire” (CGECI) and the ”Centre de Promotion des Investissements de Côte d’Ivoire” (CEPICI) on Wednesday 7 June 2023 at the Head Office of the CCI-CI. This event will bring together Mauritius’ private sector operators attending the ACF 2023 and enterprises from the Western African country to discuss possibilities of collaboration and strategic alliances. The EDB Mauritius and the CEPICI will sign a revised Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to expand the two Investment Promotion Agencies’ cooperation.
